Newbee even extends its lead in the Dota 2 World Ranking of September. Who can keep up with the Chinese?
[newbee] once again leads the Dota 2 World Ranking of the best teams. The Chinese now enjoy a comfortable lead of more than 16,000 ranking points to their closest rivals [og] and [team liquid]. Newbee was the runner-up at the International last month, giving them 4,682 ranking points. It’s the teams fourth consecutive month at the top and the ninth month this year. Since April Newbee has played seven big tournaments and apart from the disappointing Epicenter never finished worse than third place.
Chinese teams on the rise in the Dota 2 World Ranking
On their hunt are OG and Team Liquid. The winners of The International passed [evil geniuses], who drop to rank 4 this month. It’s Liquids best rank since last December when they briefly lead the Dota 2 World Ranking. Evil Geniuses in contrast may have disappointed at The International, but continue their record-breaking run of now 41 consecutive months amongst the ten best teams in the world.
Since chinese teams dominated The International (just not winning it), many of them gained significantly in this months Dota 2 World Ranking. [invictus gaming] for example rises one rank to rank 6, followed by [ig.vitality] (+2), [lgd gaming] (9. / +3) and [lgd.forever young] (11. / +4).
In between is [team secret] who rise to rank 8 which is their best position since March. The team around the most successful player in the history of Dota 2, [puppey], slowly regains its former strength.
TNC Gaming repeats their top10 coup
The biggest news for the top10 is [tnc gaming]: The Southeastasians are the first team ever from the Philippines to make it among the ten best Dota teams in the world. They regain their tenth spot from April after being ninth at The International.
Going a bit down the ranking it’s [double dimension] to take into focus. With their second place at ProDota Cup Europe 21 the Russians – just 65. at The International – gained 30 ranks and join the top 100 for the first time since the team was created in March.
