Cr1ts run is over: After three months at the top of the Dota 2 World Ranking he has to make way for his predecessor and now successor Kaka and kphoenii – the best Australian player ever.
[kaka] and [kphoenii] take over the Dota 2 World Ranking. The two players from [newbee] shared the second spot last month already and passed [cr1t-] now who has to make way for them after three months at the top. While Kaka already lead the ranking in November and December, it’s a whole new experience for Kphoenii. The Australian is the first ever player from his country to reach these highs.
Even more Australians make it to the top of the Dota 2 World Ranking
Kphoenii joined the Dota 2 World Ranking in January 2015 as a member of [can`t say wips]. He later played for [mvp phoenix] and [ehome.king] before finding his home in [newbee] in March 2016. Together with the chinese team he had the best time of his career, winning two major titles with the Nanyang Season 2 and the Dota 2 Professional League.
What’s even crazier: While Australia hasn’t been on the Dota 2 map in recent years, there’s even two players from down under now in the top10 of the Dota 2 World Ranking. Besides Kphoenii at the very top, [ana] from [og] also joined the club of the worlds ten best players. And he is one of the youngest to do so: With his 17 years and 187 days only [suma1l] (16 years, 321 days) and [zai] (17 years, 87 days) were younger when they first reached the top10.
The ten best players of the Dota 2 World Ranking now consist of four players from Newbee (Kaka, Kphoenii, [faith] and [uuu9]) and four players from OG ([bigdaddy], [fly3], [jerax] and ana). Only two players disturb this two team harmony: The above mentioned Cr1t from [evil geniuses] and [team liquid]s [miracle-]. The Jordanian, also an exception for his countrys Dota scene even re-enters the top10 due to Liquids strong performance at the Kiev Major.
Invictus Gaming has the most successful players of the month
The most successful player of the month doesn’t play for any of these teams though. It’s [q] from [invictus gaming] who tops this sub-ranking. Winning the Dota 2 Asia Championships and finishing the Kiev Major and the Dota 2 Professional League as third, Q gained almost 10,000 ranking points which boost him from World Rank 81 to 31.
His teammates jump even more: [burning], once leading the Dota 2 World Ranking in 2014, rises from rank 138 to 55, [boboka] and [xxs] from 66 to 27 and [op] from 87 to 39. While [virtus.pro] didn’t benefit much from their strong performance in Kiev in the Team Ranking, some of their players do. [lil] for example is now 25 ranks higher than before on World Rank 66 while [9pashaebashu] rises to rank 73.
