Shin ‚Hydra‘ Dong Won is the new leader of the Starcraft 2 World Ranking. He captures the spot of the best Starcraft player from WCS champion Kim ’sOs‘ Yoo Jin.

[hydra] is the new leader of the Starcraft 2 World Ranking. In a month in which the 24-year-old didn’t play single tournament, he passes his predecessor [sos] who was also inactive for a whole month but got points from December 2014 deleted. Hydra won the WCS Season 2 this year and was runner-up at WCS Season 1. He couldn’t keep up at the Global Finals though, finishing fifth.

Behind the two koreans [lilbow] remains the best foreigner due to his success at WCS Season 3. In December however the French disappointed with just a1 17th place at the HomeStory Cup XIII.

Starcraft 2 World Ranking: Firecake and Cyan at the peak

The cup by TakeTV was one of two major tournaments that concluded in December. Its winner [mma] got a boost from rank 46 to 38 in the World Ranking, but has yet to improve to regain the top10-spot he held for more than a year until November. Runner-up [firecake] showed that he is in good shape and improved to rank 28, which is the best in his career yet.

The second big tournament was the Starcraft 2 Team League 2015. The X-team won the competition and their star player [byun] turned out as the MvP of the season. He thus improved from rank 89 to 50 in the World Ranking which is his best rank since January 2012 (!). Surprisingly [cyan] from China showed the second best performance and jumped to rank 75 in the World Ranking – a new career high.
