Today we launch a new special ranking for Dota 2: The „Strongest Teams By Accumulated Player Scores“. What it means is that we rate each team by the scores of their individual players – and that changes the order of the worlds best team quite a bit.
For this ranking we took all the team that are currently in the Dota 2 Team World Ranking and accumulated the scores of their individual players from the Dota 2 Player World Ranking. Naturally this gives teams with five members a higher chance to place higher in the ranking than team with just three players in the lineup right now. Click here for the full ranking.
1. [secret team]
The [secret team] is without a doubt the strongest Dota team right now on paper. Even before the addition of [arteezy] and [zai], the team was very successful winning XMG Captains Draft 2.0 and Dota Pit League Season 2 lately. Now they become even stronger.
2. [vici gaming]
[vici gaming] is always second, no matter if it’s in the World Ranking or at this special ranking. However they have the leader of the Dota 2 Player World Ranking, [iceiceice1] in their roster.
3. [newbee]
[newbee] is a bit higher in this ranking because they have six players under contract right now but that doesn’t change the fact that the defending champion of The International 2014 is a strong force in the Dota universe.
4. [cloud 9]
The relatively young team of [cloud 9] consists of some of the finest players from Canada, Sweden, Romania and Germany. Maybe they could even be higher up in the ranking if they hadn’t changed [singsing] for [fata-] back in August.
5. [evil geniuses]
Even with just three players under contract right now, [evil geniuses] is still one of the strongest teams in the world. With some new teammembers they will surely climb up the ranking in February.
6. [natus vincere]
[natus vincere] has been the strongest team in the world for years but since the departure of [kuroky] and [puppey] they are struggling.
7. [lgd gaming]
By winning the i-league Season 2 last weekend [lgd gaming] proved how strong their team is. Lead by the experienced [x!!] they will surely create some more motion in the tournament scene soon.
8. [alliance]
A few days ago this was the spot of [team tinker] but then [alliance] took back [egm] and [pajkatt] along with him, so now the Swedish team is the eigth strongest in the world. Let’s see if they can prove that in the upcoming Dota 2 Asian Championships.
9. [virtus.pro]
[virtus.pro] is the best russian team at the moment. Their B-Team [virtus.pro polar] is almost as successful.
10. [mvp phoenix]
You may like it or you don’t but [mvp phoenix] isn’t just the best Korean team but they are also capable of playing major international tournaments. Lately they have been fifth at the IeSF 2014 World Championship and seventh at the ASUS ROG DreamLeague Season 2 .
