The legend made it: Lee ‚Flash‘ Young Ho will play at IEM Toronto in two weeks. He survived the Asian Qualifier by beating four world-class players – and see who will follow him to the main tournament.

[flash] surprisingly won the Asian Final qualifier for IEM Toronto (8/28 – 8/31) today beating [soo], [classic (kdw)], [hero] and the champion of WCS America [pigbaby]. He lost only one map during the tournament aside from being knocked out of the winner bracket by [zest] who qualified along with [flash]. It’s Flashs second IEM after playing IEM New York in 2013 where he dropped out of the group stage. Same applies for [zest] who was fifth at IEM Shenzhen recently too.

They are two of eight qualificants for the next big IEM tournament. Two more Koreans qualified in the European Qualifier. [first] and [yoda] left behind a field of challengers like [hyun], [mma], [sacsri], [golden] and [jjakji]. Best foreigner in this qualifier was [socke] who finished as seventh after beating [mc] and [welmu].

MajOr wins American Qualifier – but cannot attend IEM Toronto

Another foreigner almost made it to IEM Toronto: [major] won the American Qualifier beating [polt] by 3:0 but unfortunately the Mexican won’t get a visa for Canada. Instead [violet] will join the main event, even though he lost the deciding match to [polt]. But some other foreigner made it: [scarlett] beat [violet] in the winner bracket to earn her spot in Toronto. She is accompanied by her fellow countryman [masa] who won the Canadian Qualifier which was not attended by any Korean players.

So now we already know 12 of the 16 contestants of IEM Toronto: [taeja], [sos], [mc] and [hyun] received wildcards for the main tournament. Four more players will have to fight through the double tournaments which begin in Toronto at August 28.
