There has been a lot of coming and going in the lineups of the worlds best Dota teams in February. This changes the pecking order of the best team quite a bit. Here’s how three russian teams entered the club of the ten best teams in the world – and why they might stay there for some time.

The list is as usual led by [evil geniuses] and [vici gaming]. While EG had to change their lineup in January by adding [aui_2000] and [suma1l], the lineup of VG is stable for seven months now. Since both are the most successful teams of the past year, they naturally lead this ranking too.

Secret Team is catching up

But the [secret team] is catching up more and more. The third placed lineup is the most successful team of the past three months and entered the World Rankings Top10 in like no time. Without any surprising lineup changes, [puppey] and his team can easily top EG and VG in the coming months.

The following teams [newbee] and [cloud 9] disappeared from public radar recently. Newbee for example hasn’t had a great tournament since November, Cloud 9 since December. But over the course of a year, both are still very successful – as are their members, even though Cloud 9 had to replace [aui_2000] and [pieliedie] two months ago.

Three russian teams among the best ten

[lgd gaming] and [team empire] are the ones who achieved a lot this year already: The chinese team won the i-league Season 2 in January while the Russians triumphed at the Star Ladder Star Series Season 11.

[virtus.pro] and its more successful „B-team“ [virtus.pro polar] are new to this list. They belong to the best teams of the past three months. Polar added former [natus vincere]-player [fng] in December, while the main team hasn’t changed since August.

This leaves the three russian teams open to a golden year: The best russian players already play for them and all are very active teams who engage in a lot of tournaments. So they won’t get worse over time.
