The Red Bull Battlegrounds Online determined four finalists in a qualifier-marathon in the past four days. Out of more than 400 participants, [hero], [yoda], [cure] and [polt] made it to the finals. Especially the qualification of [cure] is a surprise. The 329th of the World Ranking eliminated [polt], [hero] and [rogue] amongst others in his qualifier. [hero] was also eliminated by [yoda] when the latter won the first qualifier.
Yes, there were foreigners attending, but…
The qualifiers were dominated by south-korean players – as usual. Only one foreign player made it into the Ro8 once. [petreaeus] defeated [neige], [sacsri] and [effort] before he was eliminated by [cure] who went on to win the tournament. Others like [huk], [mana], [nerchio], [harstem] and [uthermal] did not even get that far.
But there were also some famous Koreans who failed several times: [mc] for example was the highest seeded player in all four qualifiers, but never made it past the Ro16. He dropped out against [annyeong], [first], [myungsik] and [supernova]. [dear] and [hero2] failed in the first qualifier, [hyun] and [violet] in the last two tournaments.
