The Summit 2 is already at a prize pool of $305,000 – and there are still a few days left to donate. So the tournament will most likely pass i-League and become the second highest paying Dota 2 tournament this year – if you leave out The International of course.
Dota 2 set new records when it comes to prize money this year. The International 2014 paid out more than 10 million dollars alone, we are close to 16 million dollar in prize money total this year. That’s almost four times the amount paid out in 2013. Incredible!
The Summit 2 is right now at about $305,000 dollar. The finals will be on Sunday so there is some time left to donate to the tournament. If it collects just $6,000 more it will pass i-league as the second highest paying Dota 2 tournament this year. The way to the top, which is the World Cyber Arena and its $472,000 should be to far.
By the way, the highest paying Dota tournament of 2013 was the Dota 2 Super League with $160,723 – it wouldn’t even make it to the top 10 of this year.
