The defending champion MC has to play a hard match today in WCS Europes Final Weekend

Today matches in WCS Europe not only feature defending champion Jang ‚MC‘ Min Chul in his hard match against Kang ‚San‘ Cho Won but also european hope Juan ‚VortiX‘ Moreno Duran against WCS-rookie Jo ‚Golden‘ Myeong Hwan. Who are you cheering for?

It’s been a while since [san] and [mc] last met – but it was in WCS Europe too. In last seasons Round of 16, San won 2:0. But while MC later on won the tournament, San dropped out in the semi-finals against [mma]. In total, the both Korean Protoss are close to one another in terms of skill. While MC is ahead 4:2 in their matches, it’s only 8:7 in maps. But this might be Sans chance to get ahead in maps: The 24-year-old is on a 4-1 record in Protoss vs Protoss this month, he beat [oz] and [first] at Dreamhack lately. MC however struggles in PvP, he lost to [zeth], [patience] and [welmu] lately. But he is still the defending champion and thus dangerous to anyone.

Just by looking at recent history, it is hard to determine a favourite for this match: Both players did not play each other since January when Golden won at IEM Katowice. Both players did not play many ZvZ lately and if they did, they had mixed results. And [golden] never played in WCS Europe before – [vortix] however was 3rd and 5th in the past two seasons – so maybe it is time to root for the spanish player once again.
