Team Secret leads the Dota 2 Team World Ranking in December miles ahead of every other Dota 2 team – if OG wants to be their next nemesis, they will have to overcome the „majors curse“.

[team secret] has to no no surprise widened the gap in the World Ranking between themselves and every other Dota 2 team in the world. They lead the current ranking by such a crushing distance, it gets ridiculous. With 59,840 points they are ahead by roughly 23,000 points of [evil geniuses]. For those of you that don’t follow our rankings regularly, you need to win at least three global tournaments with more than 100,000 dollar prize money to even get close to 23,000 ranking points. So if [puppey] and his teammates don’t suddenly retire, they will lead the ranking for quite some time.

EG suffers the „Majors Curse“, OG enters the World Ranking

EG, who was the dominating team up to The International, now suffers the „Majors curse“. As the winner of the biggest tournament this year they have fallen a bit weak. EG was only the sixth most successful team in the Fall Season which ended with the Frankfurt Major. There however, they showed a good performance, finishing third.

Frankfurt surprising winners [og] enter the World Ranking this month on rank 14. This might seem to low considering they have won two major tournaments (Frankfurt Major and ASUS ROG Dreamleague), but rank 14 sets OG already above former major-champions like [natus vincere] and [newbee]. And if they don’t suffer the Majors curse now themselves, it’s a short way into the top10 teams in the world.

Vega Squadron and CDEC Gaming in the World Rankings top10 for the first time

This was proven this month by [vega squadron] who surprisingly won ESL One New York in October and had some mixed, but not disappointing results at the three main tournaments in November. #11 at Nanyang, #9 at Frankfurt Major and #5 at ASUS ROG Dreamleague add up to rank 10 in the current Team World Ranking – the highest Vega has ever been. One place above is another newcomer: [cdec gaming] was fifth at Nanyang and Frankfurt and thus climbs up the ladder. They leave [mvp phoenix] and [cloud 9] behind who drop out of the top10 this month.

Besides OG there are two more newcomers to the World Ranking among the best 100 teams in December: [team liquid], the team of [kuroky], is ranked 36. and [no logic gaming] (with former [london conspiracy] players [madara] and [ssaspartan]) enter on rank 72. Others like [cdec youth] (+225 ranks), [ftd club] (+114), [walrus punch!] (+105) and the [monkey freedom fighters] (+46) made huge jumps compared to November.
