The quarter-finals of the „32 Boys 1 Cup“ by BaseTradeTV had been postponed due to the WCS Global Finals, but this weekend we will see who might be the lucky one to win the major share of $4,000. These are the last eight boys in the cup.
Many players have perished from the „32 Boys 1 Cup“ tournament since we took a look at the contestants a month ago, but [parting] is still the biggest favourite amongst the remaining eight. The final part of the tournament will be played this weekend. Up to now all players have won 50 dollars, but one will go to bed on Sunday and be $1,000 dollar richer. These are the matches of the quarter-finals.
[parting] vs [intense]
On paper this should be a piece of cake for [parting]. The Korean is a former number one of the World Ranking while his opponent has only played six tournament in his career yet. But [intense] is on the height of it, he won The Breakout Invitational 3 last month – though against American players only.
[nerchio] vs [kangho]
Usually i wouldn’t bet anything on [kangho] in this match but the Korean surprised at the Homestory Cup X last weekend and finished as its third best player. Additionally, when both last met at the Fragbite Spring Masters, [kangho] won 2:1. But still [nerchio] is not only almost 200 ranks ahead in the World Ranking but far more experienced with 135 tournaments and 27 wins so far.
[solar] vs [crank]
[solar] is one the shooting stars of Starcraft 2 lately so he should win this match against [crank]. The latter is quite inactive this year and played only nine tournaments of which WCS Amnerica group stage was his best effort – but he beat [huk] in the round of 16 of this tournament. On the other side, [solar] has won four tournaments in the past two months alone.
[kane] vs [gumiho]
[kane]s trip to Krefeld for Homestory Cup last weekend was a disappointing one. The Canadian dropped out in the first group stage. But he is quite active in competition lately so he should be able to take down [gumiho] who hasn’t played any tournament since the Proleague in July. But careful: [gumiho] was among the best 50 players in the world some time ago.
