Evil Geniuses, OG, Team Secret – that’s the new order of the Dota 2 World Ranking. Plus some depression in the eastern and far-eastern Dota scene.
Team Secret drops in the Dota 2 World Ranking
And that’s not Team Secret anymore. The team of Puppey (who drops to rank 18 in the Player World Ranking by the way) has been passed by OG. BigDaddy and his teammates won both the Manila Major and ESL One Frankfurt within a week in June. It’s their second major title already after the Frankfurt Major back in autumn 2015. A week after that they won another big tournament – ASUS ROG Dreamleague – as well.
Team Secret drops to World Rank 3 and is now just barely ahead of Team Liquid, runner-up in Manila and third placed team at ESL One Frankfurt. Secret and EG now belong to the most underperforming teams at the moment. Behind Liquid there’s a little gap to MVP Phoenix who are now asians best team ahead of every chinese squad in the ranking.
Russian and chinese teams in crisis
The chinese crisis deepens this month with [ehome.cn] as their best team on World Rank 10 ahead of LGD Gaming and CDEC Gaming. It seems like these three old powerhouses will soon be replaced by more up and coming teams like Vici Gaming Reborn, Wings Gaming and the comeback of Newbee – just in time for The International 2016.
The CIS-teams are in a crisis too: While Vega Squadron at least gained four ranks and is sixth now, Team Empire and Virtus.pro lose ground once again. It’s so bad that VP even dismissed their team a few days ago.
