The Dota 2 World Ranking is led by OG in September. They are by far the best team in the competition right now, degrading Evil Geniuses and Team Secret.
OG has widened its advantage in the Dota 2 Team World Ranking and is leading by almost 9,000 points now. Even a somehow disappointing ninth place at The International couldn’t affect the team around BigDaddy this month. By the way, this ninth place was the worst tournament performance ever in the history of OG – and maybe one of the reasons they changed their roster for the upcoming Fall and Winter Season.
Four teams are even for the second place in the Dota 2 World Ranking
Behind OG four teams are battling for the second place. It is still held by Evil Geniuses, who played well at The International. But the American squad hasn’t reached any Grand Final for half a year now since they lost to MVP Phoenix in the Dota 2 Pit League in March.
That means that the mentioned Koreans and Team Liquid are coming closer and closer. Liquid even passed long-time-leader Team Secret this month and rises to the third place in the World Ranking – a personal best for KuroKys team. But Liquid lost FATA- and JerAx in the current transfer phase while MVP Phoenix broke apart completely. So maybe we won’t see both teams at the top of the Dota 2 World Ranking for much longer.
Wings Gaming, Natus Vincere and DigitalChaos promising
Some who are definitely willing to stay are Natus Vincere and Wings Gaming. The former just passed Team Empire and is now the best team of the CIS region once again and for the first time in almost two years. The latter jumped six ranks up by winning The International and is now the best chinese team there is. Wings won three global tournaments (more than 100,000 dollar prize money) this year.
Much is to expected as well from [digitalchaos]. The runner-up of the International just rose two ranks to number 18 this month but after their incredible performance at the tournament and after signing MoonMeander from OG there seems to be a bright shining future ahead of the team. Besides, DC passed compLexity Gaming, making them the second best American team in the World Ranking.
Looking at the Top100 of this month, there are three teams that are kind of irritating to see there: Aboshamalah enters the Dota 2 World Ranking on rank 43, Dark Passage on rank 81 and Bravado Gaming gains 56 places to rank 84. Here’s the simple explanation: There has been a qualifier for the World Cyber Arena for Africa and the Middle East in August with an astonishing prize pool of more than 50,000 dollar – giving the best teams from this tournament many ranking points.
