Jaedong wins his most prestigious title in Starcraft 2 yet

Lee ‚Jaedong‘ Jae Dong has just won the World E-sport Championships 2014. Besides a prize money of about 25.000 dollar it’s his most prestigious title in Starcraft 2 yet – though the competition wasn’t as hard as you might imagine.

[playerbox_jaedong] So far, [jaedong] was most famous for coming in second in major Starcraft 2 tournaments. The list of competition where he achieved exactly this is long and includes for example:

But now he beat this curse for once. At the World E-sport Championships 2014 the Korean had to fight hard for this though. [puck] took away a map in the quarter-finals already and while [jaedong] beat [hero1] easily in the round of 4 he had to bow down to [snute] in the Winnerbracket finals. In the Consolation final it was again [hero1] he had to face – and he beat him again, this time by 2:1 though. Back at the Grand Final against [snute] however he performed well and beat the Norwegian by 4:1.

For [snute] this is an exceptional performance once again as well. He proved once again that he truly belongs to the best players in the world – which is much to say for a foreigner. Though his way to the finals way easier – he faced [has] and [top] – the Norwegian managed to take down [jaedong] for once before losing in the Grand Finals.

The tournament only consisted of eight players, two of which were Korean. While [jaedong] won, [hero1] came in third. [puck] gained the fourth place leaving all non-korean asians like [has], [top], [jim] and [macsed] behind.

[bunny] was also qualified for the 55.000 dollar finals but couldn’t attend due to illness.
