Na´Vi is back, the casters return to competitive Dota and Team Empire shuffles its team: More than 200 players switched teams in the recent Shanghai Major shuffle. It’s hard to forget the important transfers that happened during the past two weeks – so here’s your overview.
13. Shazam founded
12. Unknown crumbles
[unknown.xiu], the biggest surprise of the Frankfurt Major, loses three players to the newly formed team As1-: Kotoro Hoyomo, Atun and Accel. The other two players, Ztok and Greedy go to Artyk Gaming.
11. Illidan joins Elements Pro Gaming
10. Steak Gaming with Synderen founded
The disbanding of Ninjas in Pyjamas was the ouverture of the Shanghai Major Shuffle. Two of the successful Swedes, ErA and Sealkid formed a new scandinavian team which also involves SyndereN. He is mostly known as a top caster these days, but was a vital part of mTw and mousesports a few years ago as a player.
9. CIS Rejects switch organization
8. Qojqva joins DigitalChaos
The Dota world seems to have forgotten about qojqva who now returns as a player for DigitalChaos. The young german was inactive since April, but you might remember him from mousesports, Team Liquid and Team Tinker.
7. No-Vaseline founded with Black^
Black^ left Fnatic after just three months to found his own team: NO-VASELINE. This is packed with former NiP-player jonassomfan, Mynuts from Alliance and Yapzor who recently played for the Monkey Freedom Fighters.
6. EGM is back with Alliance
Losing MyNuts and their substitute Pablo, Alliance had to get active. And they did, signing their former teammate EGM back from [4 clover & lepricon]. EGM was one of the founding members of No Tidehunter, which became Alliance in 2013.
5. Chuan switches from Invictus Gaming to Newbee
Former International champion Newbee was rather active in the shuffle too, signing three new players. Their most important addition is without a doubt ChuaN from Invictus Gaming. It’s the biggest transfer in the Asian Dota scene this season, which hosts the highlight Shanghai Major in March.
4. The pro casters get back to competitive Dota
This team will surely get the viewers glued to the screen: Purge, Merlini, Maelk and Capitalist return to competitive Dota as the Vegetables Esports Club. They are accompanied by pro player H4nn1 who played for Fnatic.EU in its best days from 2012 to 2014.
3. The new Na´Vi
Natus Vincere revealed their new lineup for the Winter Season and it seems to be a solid one: Dendi and SoNNeikO chose Ditya Ra (former Power Rangers), their former teammate Artstyle, Ax.Mo and Sh4dowehhh from ScaryFaceZ. Let’s see if that’s enough to come back to the world class.
2. Funn1k and XBoct join Team Empire
While Na´Vi has some new players their former founding members Funn1k and XBOCT join Team Empire. The russian team needs good results this winter to not lose their pole position in the CIS-region to either Virtus.pro or Natus Vincere.
1. Silent switches from Team Empire to Virtus.Pro
When OGs players were asked during the finals of The Summit yesterday if Virtus.pro is stronger with Illidan or their new addition Silent, all unanimously agreed on Silent. The transfer paid off already. Virtus.pro almost won a major tournament at The Summit. Maybe a good sign for the Shanghai Major.
