No team in the history of Dota 2 has ever been more successful in the span of a year than Evil Geniuses is right now. By winning the Dota 2 Asia Championship the American team improved to 48,600 points in the new Dota 2 Team World Ranking of March 2015. The gap to the second best team, Vici Gaming, has become increasingly high – and the one behind the Chinese doesn’t close as well.

[evil geniuses] has extended its lead in the Dota 2 Team World Ranking to more than 12,000 points this month. Just so you can imagine how big this gap is: 12,000 points is the amount that you get for winning two tournaments like the Dota 2 Asia Championships (which EG actually won last month) or the amount of points that a team like [virtus.pro polar] gathers in a year.

Vici Gaming is the lonely hunter

But second-placed [vici gaming] also sets itself apart from the rest. They are about 9,000 points ahead of [cloud 9] who dropped out in the DAC-tournament in the round of 8. The Asia Championships were the defining tournament of February but unfortunately their results were close to the actual World Ranking, so not much did change at the very top.

The only exception to this is the [secret team] who gained two ranks by their third place at DAC. They passed [mvp phoenix] and [invictus gaming] this month. Others who did surprisingly well like [big god] (83 -> 44) and [rave] (18 -> 17) improved significantly.

Ehome is the best newcomer

One of the most improved teams of the month is the [vega squadron] however who was very successful at a few smaller tournaments and thus rose by 40 ranks to rank 45. [ehome] is the best newcomer on rank 101 ahead of [champions of summer`s rift] (former [fire]) and [lianghao].
