Andreas ‚Cr1t-‚ Franck Nielsen defends his top spot in the Dota 2 World Ranking. Meanwhile all other EG-players drop out of the top10.
[cr1t-] is once again the leading player of the Dota 2 World Ranking. He stays at the top for the third month in a row and for the sixth time in the past eight months. His lead is so big that he didn’t need to finish any tournament with his team [evil geniuses] since January. Ironically this make him an exception in his own team since all of his mates dropped out of the top10 recently, following the slight downfall of EG in the Team Ranking as well. [suma1l] as 17th is the second best EG-player right now, [zai], [arteezy] and [universe] follow closely.
Wings Gaming sets new records
The top10 however is filled by other teams. Right behind Cr1t- [kaka] and [kphoenii] from [newbee] share the second rank ahead of [bigdaddy] and [fly3] from [og] on rank 4. [team liquid]s [miracle-] squeezes himself in between the other top teams while the whole squad of [wings gaming] shares World Rank 7.
Wings Gaming by the way set some new records a month ago: Their players [bian], [innocence (y`)] and [shadow1] are some of the youngest players to ever enter the top 10. Innocence was 18 years and 205 days old on his first appearance among the ten best players in the world in March. Only four players have been younger: [suma1l] (16yr, 321 days), [zai] (17yr, 56 days), [alohadance] (18yr, 107 days) and [arteezy] (18yr, 122 days).
A legend leaves the Dota 2 World Ranking
Back to the current World Ranking: In a month of few Dota tournaments, it was [team faceless] who gathered the most points and naturally that reflects on the ranks of their lineup as well. With [iceiceice] the team employs a former number1-player, but the Singaporean now rests on ranks 136 – which is 21 ranks higher than in March though and still makes him the best Singaporean player in the ranking. German player [black^] who once was on World Rank 11 now improved by roughly 50 ranks to World Rank 192.
We also have to say goodbye to some players again who leave the World Ranking after 12 months of inactivity. Most notably is [march]: The former player of [mvp phoenix] resigned after the Shanghai Major in March 2016 and winning the Dota Pit League in the same month. Though he never was higher than rank 46 in the Dota 2 World Ranking, his lifetime legacy is strong. With 42,714 points he is one of the 100 best players that Dota 2 ever saw.
