Johan ‚BigDaddy‘ Sundstein leads the Dota 2 World Ranking in July for the first time in his career. Meanwhile, former leader Puppey falls deep.
It’s OGs month in the World Ranking: The team conquered the third place of the Team World Ranking and BigDaddy reaches the very top of the Player World Ranking for the first time in his career. You cannot say this is not deserved: OG won both the Manila Major and ESL One Frankfurt in the past month.
Puppey falls to rank 18 of the Dota 2 World Ranking
This success affects BigDaddys teammates too: Cr1t-, FLY, Miracle- and MoonMeander now share the fifth place of the Dota World Ranking. In between are Fear, ppd and Suma1L who lead the ranking last month but dropped a little due to their disappointing performance at Manila. Evil Geniuses homecoming UNiVeRsE is ninth, while FATA- from Team Liquid closes the top10. It’s his best effort ever too.
Shadows hang over Team Secret meanwhile. Puppey, long-time leader of the World Ranking and still the most successful player in the history of Dota, drops to rank 18. That’s his worst rank since May 2015. Arteezy drops to 20th, pieliedie to 21st. That’s still one rank above the best chinese player in the ranking who is KaKa from Newbee on rank 22. The chinese scene experiences a little crisis at the moment with no team on world-class level.
Speaking of that: Since Virtus.pro disbanded at the end of June we have some pretty good free agents in the World Ranking this month: ALOHADANCE is still the 27th best player in the world, Fng and God share rank 38 and N0fear is 43rd. Let’s see who picks them up.
